AFTERCARE
Looking after your tattoo properly is the best way to keep it bold, bright, and healthy.
We always give you all the information you need in person, but here’s everything in one place if you want to refresh your memory. Even if you’ve heard it all before, it’s always good to remind yourself why these steps matter.
If your tattooist didn’t explain these essentials, or suggested something that didn’t sound quite right, there’s nothing wrong with looking for extra help. You deserve top-tier care.
Why Aftercare Matters
Tattoos are an investment, they are one of the few things that you are (hopefully) going to love having for the rest of your life, and there's no reason why they can't look great all the time!
KEY POINTS
Leave your tattoo wrap on for the time advised by your artist. They will normally use a "Second Skin" style product, if you have sensitivities to strong adhesives, please let them know.
Once the dressing has been removed, wash gently with fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water.
Pat dry with a clean towel, never rub.
Apply a thin layer of recommended aftercare ointment/cream.
Do not pick or scratch healing skin, this can cause colour loss or scarring.
HEALING TIMELINE
Days 1–3: Tenderness, redness, slight swelling.
Days 4–14: Peeling and itching are normal.
Weeks 2–6: Top layers settle, but deeper healing continues.
Fully healed in around 6 weeks.
EXTRA INFO
Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.
Keep tattoos out of direct sun, once healed, use SPF 30+.
Wear loose clothing during early healing.
If you notice excessive redness, swelling, or discharge, contact your artist or a healthcare professional.
